Diepvries Urk is an independent packaging solutions partner. We have built a strong position within the seafood industry since our beginnings in 1928. We are specialised in packaging frozen fish and food products.
Our modern equipment and excellent facilities allow us to present products in attractive primary packaging or as a multipack in secondary packaging.
Our semi-automated process packages the frozen products. We can do this in generic packaging, or companies can supply us with preferred packaging. The weights vary from 5 kg boxes to bulk packaging up to 350 kg. Accurate weighing is done manually, at the same time as a final product check. If required, we can add labels to the packaging that meet the legal requirements (which can vary for each destination).

Dosing and filling
Our 12-head advanced weigher is able to rapidly pack large volumes in retail packaging, ranging from 250 to 1,000 grams. The equipment for making and filling the pouches is fitted with an online printer, that can add logos and product information to the packaging. We can also pack products for retail in pre-printed foil provided by the customer. If required, we can help with the development of the packaging, making sure it meets all legal requirements as well as the customer’s wishes.

Primary and secondary packaging
Primary packaging is the packaging the product is placed in, for example, a single fish fillet in shrink film. The next layer of packaging is called secondary packaging. This could be a large multipack containing several individually packaged products.

Interleaved product processing
Interleaved products can be mechanically loosened, and the plastic foil can be removed. This process is subject to a manual and detailed visual follow-up inspection. The result is a clean and separated product ready for further processing, such as glazing, breading, sorting, and repackaging.

We package all imaginable frozen fish and food products in the required packaging for our customers. Whether it’s fish products such as sole, plaice, and cod, or food products such as chicken or snacks.
Full insight into your stock
Diepvries Urk BV has its own cold store where the products are stored in movable shelving on pallets or in boxes. Products are treated with utmost care, with constant temperature monitoring. Your product is given a unique product number/pallet number when booked in, and the customer is given all information related to the product. Our stock administration offers continual insight into the stock. We are happy to help our customers with the required certificates and export documentation for transport.
